Resumo: “Ten Studies for Multi-textural Improvisation” is a set of original compositions designed to enhance a guitarist’s skills in employing multiple types of textures in improvised, unaccompanied performances. The compositions are presented along with detailed analyses and supplemental exercises that stimulate the performer to elaborate on the concepts presented in each study. The pedagogical design and goals of this project are discussed, as are the technical affordances of the Classical guitar when treated as a multi-textural instrument.
